Potty Talk

Well, it’s Monday again! Oh boy, another week filled with endless possibilities. For inspiration today I look to our mothers. After watching this video I think I speak for all of us when I say……
Thank you Mom for raising us and putting up with the crazy, the ridiculous, and the embarrassing things we put you through at one time or another. You’re awesome and we love you!

Who Will Take Care Of “Fluffy” After The Rapture? Atheists?

This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read in awhile folks and I thought that I would post it here. Take away from it what you will but, man, this is something.
So here’s the scenario: Since there are so many of us “Fanatical Evangelical Christians” in the U.S. that believe in The Rapture, a group called Eternal Earthbound Pets has surfaced. Their mission is to take care of little fluffy when we are pulled off of this rock when Christ returns to get His people. For a small fee ($110 for the first pet and $15 for each additional pet) they will come to your home, retrieve Fido, and, I assume, place him with a loving (atheist) family. Peace of mind is their promise. Look, I’m not making this up. These people are serious.
On one hand I see the blatant ridiculousness of this organization. How do I know this isn’t a joke and they just aren’t making fun of our beliefs? If they realize, after the Rapture, they were wrong …. are my pets their primary concern at that point? How do I know they won’t just keep the money and let my animal perish? Is their enough money to really retrieve all of these animals (the business model seems weak).
On the other hand, I do see the need. I mean, hopefully everyone I’ve witnessed to have themselves been saved and are with me during the time of Rapture. Those who aren’t, I would hope, will take note and go to my house and get our pets. Since I live very far away from my family I will have to rely on my wife’s family to take care of our little ones. However, they too are saved so what should we do? I don’t want Tink, Bailey, and Penny to starve to death.
As absurd as I think this organization is, I can’t help but think that they are sincere in their gesture. And if they are….well….what would you do? I look forward to hearing from all of you.
As for us, yeah…I don’t think so. I mean, if you believe in the Rapture then you more than likely believe in The Tribulation. How on earth are they going to get to my pets in time during all that chaos? And, again, I can’t justify their business model. Lastly, I think they are nuts.
I have to agree with my brother: There is a market for everything.

Oh, we’re not signing our pets up……just so ya know.

Drone Controllers Execute Hellfire Strike

My 14 year old nephew LOVES video games. He would rather play them than eat. (This is NOT an exaggeration) So,…where could he apply his skills when he grows up while still receiving a nice paycheck? The military of course! I spent 4 years in the Army and am better for it. I’m looking forward to showing him this video so he can have something to refer to when people say “You can’t make a living by playing video games!”. Uh…yeah…you can.
We have all seen the UAV drone videos, but you never get to see who is behind the control and what is going on. All of it is controlled from Nevada. In this simulation they demonstrate their ability to control dozens of these units at the same time. The video looks almost all real except for the explosion at the end, I always thought the military video simulation looked pretty weak compared to more modern PC games but this one looks good. These Controllers are non-pilots but they are each flying a drone thousands of miles away in the combat zone. This mess is awesome!

Go Michigan!

Growing up in Southern Ohio I’ve learned a few things.
#1. When/Where to hunt for wild mushrooms.
#2. To temporarily fix a hole in your radiator just add an egg.
#3. Michigan is your (football) enemy.
After watching this video of Congressman Mike Roger discuss the ridiculousness of the new proposed health care plan, I may have to reconsider #3. How could a state with such an admirable spokesperson be so bad? (Plus, I hear the wild mushrooms they find in Michigan are HUGE!)

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

It’s Monday again! Time for a little inspiration, huh? My brother sent this video to me. As I watched it I remembered how, when I was a kid, everyone was your friend. It didn’t matter what color you were, how much money you had, or where you came from. Somehow, as we get older, we draw fine distinct lines about those around us. While that’s just part of being an adult I can’t help but wonder how much better the world would be if blocked that line of thinking sometimes. That’s what this video made me think. Oh…and it also made me think….
Awwwwwww! How cute!!!!

Social Media Revolution

This video contains unbelievable facts about Social Media. You know what Social Media is because you are reading my blog and it is, by definition, Social Media. In fact, I bet that YOU are part of this revolution. Do you use Twitter, Facebook, or Bebo?
Social Media is here to stay and I recommend, if you’re not plugging in, then you should start. Whether for personal use or professional use it’s a dimension of the Internet worth exploring. Who knows who you’ll find…or who will find you? There is no better way to keep in touch with friends or have potential clients “follow” your business.
Oh, let me give you a prediction….within 8 months Google Wave will be as well known as Facebook and Twitter. Just a little inside information from a Geek. 🙂

You Go Girl!

Betty White is 87 years old but you would never know it to look at her. She was on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a few months ago and played beer ping pong. (Some of you know what that is) She truly is amazing. She gets around better than some people I know. It was quite humorous to watch her play this game. Man, I hope I’m still that sharp when I’m 87. You can watch the video here and read about her amazing career here.

Hot Diggity Dogger!

Listen, I LOVE HOTDOGS and I’m proud of it. Don’t talk to me about all of the disgusting pieces and parts that are used to make them because I really don’t care. Don’t believe me? Here ya go: I LOVE SPAM too. Yeah, deal with it. It’s ironic really because I eat very little red meat and (due to my awesome wife) eat very healthy but there are some things I am unable to let go of. Hot Dogs is one of them. So what would make the whole hotdog thing even better? Well, that would be the ability to fix them anytime I want without all the hassle. Enter the appliance of my dreams….The Hot Diggity Dogger.
I saw this wonderful device on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. He gave it away to an audience member for winning some crazy contest. Anyway, as soon as I saw it I immediately did a search on Google. So here’s the deal, if you are looking for something to buy The LunchBoxx….well…this is it. This is by far the last thing that should ever adorn our kitchen counter top and, given the chance, it will. 🙂 You can visit their website here.
